LIGHTNING THIEF INFORMATION
The Queen Creek Performing Arts Center is excited to announce The Lightning Thief, a Percy Jackson Musical as a part of our Family Theater Series.
Audition Dates & Times:
Friday May 31st from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday June 1st from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Callbacks:
Callbacks will be held on Saturday June 8th starting at 10:00 a.m.
Casting:
We are casting for all roles. Please make sure you fill out what you will accept on your audition form.
Audition Location:
Queen Creek High School Campus (Please meet in the QCHS Choir room) a map will be emailed the Monday before auditions.
Ages:
13 and up (Must be 13 years old by the first rehearsal on July 15th)
Show dates:
Thursday August 15th at 7:00 p.m.
Friday August 16th at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday August 17th at 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Schedule is subject to change and you may not be called to every rehearsal.
However, these days should remain open or listed on your audition form under conflicts)
July: 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 27th, 29th, 30th, 31st
August: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th
Tech Rehearsals:
Monday August 12th – Wednesday August 14th
Tech rehearsals are from 5:30 p.m. until finished. (5:00 p.m. call time if you have a mic)
No absences are allowed the two weeks before tech week. All tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals and performances are mandatory for cast members. Too many conflicts or the timing of conflicts could keep you from being cast.
Audition Requirements: (Please read all instructions)
- Download the audition form and waivers from our website. Fill them out and bring them to your audition. (No need for a resume or headshot. We will take your photo at the audition.) All forms must be fully completed and turned in before auditioning.
- Please prepare 16 bars (30 seconds) of any musical theater song. The auditioner is responsible for having their song downloaded on their own device. This should be an mp3 karaoke track with NO VOCALS on it.
*No sheet music, flash drives or CDs.
**No wifi available. Please do not try to stream from your phone as service is
unpredictable. Make sure the song is downloaded.
***Accepted devices include ipads, ipods, iphones, android phones, tablets
****We will have the available adaptors for your devices: Apple lightning adapter, Aux Cord, & USB-C
- Check in 15 minutes prior to your scheduled audition time. Example: I sign up for a 6:00 p.m. audition. I will check in with all my paperwork at 5:45 p.m. We will start choreography 10 minutes prior to your audition time. If you are late, we may be unable to move you to another audition time.
- Please be prepared to learn a Choreography combination. Remember this when picking out your outfit. No flip flops or Crocs please.
Small Print:
*These are closed auditions. No friends or family will be allowed to watch the audition.
You are welcome to wait in the assigned waiting area.
**If you are to be cast, there is a cast fee (participation fee) of $50 for the first cast member and $40 for each additional family member. We do offer a discounted fee if you would like to volunteer with us. The cast fee is due before the first rehearsal July 15th.
***Cast members will be responsible to provide their own footwear, hosiery, underdressing’s, make up and hair products.

Monday June 3rd & Tuesday June 4th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Callbacks:
