Lady
Antebellum

September 11th, 2008
When
rising country music group Lady Antebellum blew onto the
scene in early 2008, national outlets from MSN to Associated
Press named them "one to watch." Now, three months after
their album debuted at #1, music critics across the country
are hailing it as "one of the year's best, period," earning
them a place among a small group of artists with both commercial
appeal and critical acclaim.
In
short order, Lady Antebellum has become one of country music's
most promising new acts with a sound that has far more in
common with '70s and '80s pop than traditional country.
Their debut album hit No. 1, their lead single, "Love Don't
Live Here," is No. 5, and in May 2008 they won the Academy
of Country Music's award for top new vocal group.
